Why couldn’t this game have been a title decider for Arsenal against united instead of making it a title decider next week for Chelsea and united?! You cannot fault the young Gunners after comprehensively beating united at the Emirates. It was a surprisingly one-sided affair with Arsenal controlling the game. With the pressure off Arsenal seemingly came over as relaxed and their football seemed to emulate that. The pace and the tempo was dictated by Arsenal and despite lots of half chances no real clear cut chances were being created.

Many an Arsenal fan could have predicted a smash and grab affair from United! However with United looking distinctly average the Gunners finally got their reward on 56 minutes with Van Persie laying the ball into the path of Ramsey who slotted home with ease to give Arsenal the lead. Arsenal never then really looked back and United had little to offer. United had a penalty shout turned down when Clichy clearly fouled Owen, however it would have been cruel on Arsenal. Finally the luck was on their side.

Am I going slightly mad? I’ll explain! I think Arsenal can still win the league!! I know I know there is only 2 games left of the season but I honestly do! If Arsenal win their final 2 league games and Chelsea beat united and lose their final game and United also lose away to Blackburn then the Gunners win the league on goal difference! Keep believing Arsenal!

  1. With a win @ Bolton and at home the game the week beore, they would have been much closer. It’s too late now; Arsenal is a great team with spectacular plays througout the season but at some point, they lose the distance and their acuteness in the title run. It’s the best team in the League, not on the long run though.
