Another Win for Inter

It didn’t take long for Inter to make their dominance known against bottom dwellers Cesena in their midweek match.  The Nerazzurri got one goal in the 14th minute and one in the 15th, – both due to the brilliance of Samuel Eto’o. The first he scored and the second he created – drawing defenders before finding Pandev who sep up Milito for the tap-in in front of goal.

The script seemed to be written early, but no one told Cesena.  Catching Inter on the exhale, they scored two quality goals before the 30 minute mark. Inter responded though, reclaiming their lead in extra time of the first half when Chivu headed in a Maicon cross.

There was no scoring in the second half, but you wouldn’t have guessed it by the pace of play.  Inter, instead of following Italian protocol, played as if it were a tied game – pushing forward and taking chancing in search of the clinching goal. They almost found it, if not for Eto’o hitting a post and Pandev somehow blowing a clear shot within the six-yard box.

The Nerazzurri’s positive soccer under Leonardo is being rewarded as they continue to climb back up the table. Now in fourth place, six points behind Milan with a game in hand, Inter are on a five-match winning streak, which they hope to extend this Sunday against Udinese.
