Brazil to confirm vs Mexico?

After a controversial 3-1 win vs Croatia and an obvious flop from Brazilian striker Fred; Brazil will have the chance to validate his ticket to the next round against Mexico. This is a rematch of last year’s Confederations Cup where Brazil won 2-0, same place in Fortaleza and almost same date.

The Mexicans will want to confirm their good start with a win over a weak Cameroon side which might not even play with Eto’o against Croatia. The loser of Croatia-Cameroon will exit the World Cup before playing last game.

Brazil coach Scolari said after Brazil-Croatia 3-1:

“The players were fantastic. They kept calm and turned around the Opening Match of the World Cup, which is not easy. The fans deserve an even bigger hand, though. The support here in Sao Paulo was amazing. It was out of this world and people can’t imagine what it was like”.

Mexican striker Peralta ahead of Brazil-Mexico clash:

“After a difficult qualification, this team is clearly looking much better now. We have settled into a rhythm. And also, we have a lot of supporters here, following us and believing in us. This drives us on to give even more. “Thanks to the first win, we are very calm about the Brazil match, about taking another step forwards to achieving our goal. But the Brazil team is tough, very tough.

Croatia coach Kovac

“I really am very proud of Croatia despite the defeat because I know that we came up against a great team in every sense of the word. We put in a fantastic performance, from the first minute to the last. Brazil were very strong but we deserved at least a point. I’m proud because we showed that we can survive the group phase”.
