Liga BBVA – FC Barcelona 5-1 Sevilla FC

Leo Messi  surpassed Telmo Zarra (251 goals) to become the all-time La Liga scoring leader with now 253 goals at 27 years old.. only!

Reactions from the pitch:

Coach Luis Enrique” I have never seen a player like Messi.  “I feel lucky to be his manager. Nobody can be compared to him. He’s one-of-a-kind and we’ll never see anyone like him ever again and we are priviliged to have him and be able to watch him.”

Xavi: “We’re happy about everything, for Leo, it’s an incredible record, historic, and he deserves it as a person and as a player. “We looked good in all facets and I think it was one of our best games. Leo’s happy to be here and we’ve seen it once again. When Messi’s happy, Barça’s happy.”

Jordi Alba: “This was our most complete match so far. We did it all for 90 minutes.”

“Their goal was a fluke. I tried to get out of the way, but it happened too fast.”

“The wingbacks have more freedom to move up.”

“Throwing Messi up in the air was totally unplanned.”

“I think we’re good. We love Messi, but I think some people that are not in the Club want to hurt him.”

Busquets:“We’ve celebrated a lot these last few years, but this one really was deserving. It was completely spontaneous.”

“It’s normal that Rakitic didn’t want to celebrate his goal, that was his old team, and he’s still fond of them.”

“I think it was a great win because this was a really good team we beat and they have good players.”
