Germany ranks first in Europe, face important second round of qualifiers

We are a year away from the UEFA Euro 2016 draw. The first Euro tournament, extended to 24 teams, will take place in France. The host country won the last tournament it hosted in 1984.

2014 World Cup champions German are highly favorite despite a really start in the campaign. Former champions Spain will try to rejuvenate after their poor campaign in Brazil while France will have the home support and is looking to built on a strong World Cup campaign – stopped in the Quarterfinal stage 1-0 by Germany.

Germany picked up seven points from their first four UEFA EURO 2016 qualifiers although reigning European title holders Spain are in close pursuit. England, Italy and Netherlands complete the top 5 positions.

Notable changes since the last coefficient rankings include the Czech Republic climbing ten places to seventh after an impressive autumn qualifying campaign.

The qualifiers will resume at the end of March 2015 with Spain-Ukraine; Bulgaria-Italy; Georgia-Germany and Netherlands-Turkey; among other very interesting matchups
